Stories, Creatures, and Curiosity

A lifelong reader, writer, and devoted dog walker who never seems to have enough shelf space for all the books that feel absolutely necessary.

Meet the Author

I am Mallory, author and perpetual wrangler of dogs who would much rather be outside right now. As cliché as it sounds, I have been a reader and writer for as long as I can remember. My first so called published work was an illustrated deep dive into the extinction of Eohippus, lovingly created by my nine year old self and still proudly produced by my mother whenever she wants to embarrass me. I was the kid hauling armfuls of library books every week, convinced there could never be such a thing as too many. These days, e books help, but the love of physical shelves has never faded.

Monsters have always fascinated me. They mirror the deepest parts of the human mind, from our darkest fears to our most powerful desires. Monsters can symbolize freedom from societal rules, untamed passion, and the things we are often afraid to name. When someone reaches out to a monster, imagination takes over. That pull toward the nonhuman and deeply character driven stories eventually led me to romance. And honestly, monsters are hot.

Let’s Connect

After years of wandering, I now live on the East Coast of the United States, surrounded by trees with a creek running through my backyard. I share my home with four borzoi and a flock of chickens who are fully convinced they are in charge. There is also an owl in the oak bole who keeps a quiet watch, just in case.

Writing may be a solitary pursuit, but connection is what gives it meaning. Conversation is the spark of life, and I love hearing from readers. If you ever feel like reaching out, please do. Knowing that someone enjoys my work is enough to make my entire day glow.

Happy reading.
